I'd like...Dan, I believe I am different online. I'd like to think not, but that's not being honest with myself. It's much easier to be bold and say things that I wouldn't ordinarily say if I were sitting across from someone. Especially when it comes to politics or religion. <br />I would have to guess that it's true for many people. In the "real" world, you are who you are. You have developed a personality and the people you associate with have a set of expectations that you will continue to be the way you always have been. Online, you can break away from that and change yourself. I really hope people don't consciously do that, but you know they do. Is what's shared online the real "me" or is it simply the thoughts of what I could or should be?Dan DeMurahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09402985472547749466noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7219610262690146214.post-32881409014246240422010-01-04T10:24:23.347-05:002010-01-04T10:24:23.347-05:00We are all pioneers in the social experiment which...We are all pioneers in the social experiment which is the Internet. We can have virtual affairs, meet and seduce one another, see the very next thing and suddenly feel as modern as Picasso. (Who, by the way, has been dead for 20 years). It's exciting - as you know, Freddy. But it has its downsides. We can be invaded by persons whose complexes are more difficult than our own and who do not even see the destruction they sow in our hearts and minds. To them, it is normal. Everyone's version of reality gets paraded here online - to their ignorance, lol. I like the people who assume they can create an alternate identity - their virtual "second chance" - which, to a small degree we all do, let me be fair - but you know what I mean. These are the wankers at sports boards which I find myself also losing steam towards. Suddenly they become GM's and coaches with knowledge of a game they actually sucked at when they tried playing. Unfortunately, it is the same with the hyper religious. Hopefully, they will learn.Stevehttp://www.stevesnedeker.comnoreply@blogger.com
